Storage License, Dániel Czakó

-

What does the Subgroup do and what are its objectives?

The Subgroup tracks and informs members about regulatory changes affecting the Hungarian electricity market and system services markets. It represents members in committees responsible for maintaining the regulatory frameworks governing the operation of the Hungarian electricity system and defining the obligations and opportunities of system users (MAVIR Grid Code, Commercial Code, and Distribution Code committees: MAVIR KSZB, ÜSZB, and ESZB). Beyond providing information, the Subgroup initiates and/or coordinates industry-level regulatory amendment proposals that expand market participants’ opportunities and promote transparency and the efficient functioning of the affected markets.

Who can join?

Energy market participants and stakeholders that operate, or plan to operate, industrial-scale energy storage projects in Hungary and hold an energy storage license issued by the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority (MEKH).

What are the benefits of membership?

Members receive timely, concise information on both favorable regulatory changes and those posing business risks for industrial-scale storage facilities operating or planned within the Hungarian electricity system. Under the advocacy umbrella of the Hungarian Battery Association, members can more effectively support, initiate, or oppose regulatory amendments than through individual efforts.
